What is BoostCares?

Boostability office logo

BoostCares is Boostability’s internal program that helps give back to our community. It’s very important to us as a company that we are involved in the communities in which we work and live. In fact, Boost ares is a part of the reason why many employees join the company. We want to be a part of a company that stands for something.

BoostCares got its start early in Boostability’s history. The founders of the company recognized the strength in community. Strong communities mean employees who are excited to show up at work and represent. Along the way we’ve made some amazing partnerships with the Humane Society, Encircle and Utah Pride, the Road Home, and our local cities to help keep Utah a beautiful place to live.

Our employees are proud to work at a company that stands for something. These quarterly service projects keep our employees involved and give them a sense of pride in the company. We’re very proud of our BoostCares program.

The Causes We’ve Supported

Encircle, June 2018

In Utah, where two of our Boostability offices are located, LGBTQ+ suicide rates are four times the national average. In conjunction with Pride Month, Boostability created a unique tee shirt (one of our calling cards!) to celebrate this kind of diversity, with all of the proceeds going to Encircle, a local LGBTQ+ resource center located in Provo, Utah.

The Road Home, December 2018

With homelessness becoming a rising problem across the United States, Boostability stepped in during the 2018 holiday season to offer relief to families struggling to find secure housing. We collected items like pillows, coats, blankets, and baby formula, as well as cash donations to give individuals a little extra help as they worked to get back on their feet.

As Eve from the classic early 2000s film Life Size once said, “The earth belongs to everyone. Please keep it clean!” In honor of Earth Day, Boostabilty employees headed out to clean up the Murdock Canal Trail in Utah county, a popular spot for runners in the area.

Held every summer in the Heber Valley, this half marathon raises awareness and donations for autism. In the summer of 2019, Boost employees got up extra early to help out with the race by signing in participants and manning the supply stations.

Hoofbeats to Healing, November 2019

The Hoofbeats to Healing method uses neurological research that shows repetitive movement like horseback riding can help the brain develop new neural pathways, especially after trauma. At the end of 2019, Boostability donated $500 to support this unique therapy option. We also spent a day cleaning saddles and repairing fences at their facility in Saratoga Springs, Utah.

Australian Fire Relief, February 2020

One of our biggest partners is located in Australia, and with the rash of wildfires, Boostability knew we needed to do something to help. Boost employees designed original posters featuring Australian wildlife and auctioned off Australian candy to raise money for the fire relief efforts. At the end of the day, we’d collected over $5000!

Why it Matters?

At Boostability we care about our customers but that extends beyond our work activities. We can’t help but notice opportunities to help those in need and support organizations that make a difference. In fact, service is an important part of our culture that we try to foster in our community. Bringing the team together to work towards a common cause has been key in developing the robust culture we enjoy at Boostability. We encourage employees to contribute to the BoostCares selection process by advocating for causes they feel passionate about.

We measure success differently here. It’s about the impact we make on our community. A company in Australia is one of our biggest partners. We didn’t hesitate to find a way to help them in a time when the country is hurting from recent wildfires. Similarly, we saw the difference Hoofbeats to Healing was making and found a way to get involved. This is part of a larger change Boostability has sought to initiate in the industry. Studies show that employees at companies that regularly engage in Corporate Social Responsibility programs are more ethical. We do business differently because we value the impact we can make on the world.
